Interesting title chase in Italy

Milan sneaked away with their slip up last week but they were not lucky this time around as the chasing pack: Inter, Napoli, Udinese won their own week 30 fixtures to turn the heat on the Rossoneris.

AC Milan visited Palermo who had not won their last 5 series A games including a record 7-0 home drubbing by Udinese. Barbera hasn’t been a good hunting ground for Milan in the last three years as they have lost on their last 3 visits. Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s suspension only added to Max Allegri’s woes. Serse Cosmi’s side ensured the Rossoneris left empty handed again in a scrappy game in Sicily. Milan seems to be slowing down at the business end of the season and the chasing pack are hot on their heels. They lacked ideas and presence upfront with Cassano and Pato’s combination barely mustering anything. This would be worrying times for Milan fans as they prepare to host Internazionale in the Derby Della Madonnina in a fortnight. Leonardo’s Inter Milan who are just 2 points behind Milan know that a victory over their cousins would take them to the top of the log.

Else where, Napoli seem to have recovered from their slump at a very good time and they are tailing Inter closely. Edinson Cavani getting back to scoring form must be pleasing for the little donkeys. They are placed 3rd on the table. One point behind second place Inter and three behind AC Milan. A draw in the Milan derby will be pleasing for Walter Mazarri and his side if they manage a victory over Lazio at the San Paolo.
In form Udinese are also in with a shot despite being 6 points off pole position. The Zebrettes are amongst the highest scoring side in the Pennisula this season with Antonio Di Natale leading the charge as well as Alexis Sanchez. Their week 31 trip to Lecce would give them an opportunity to close in on the top three.

Allegri has the international weekend break to regroup in other for him to bring Scudetto glory back to Milan after a seven years wait.
